Facilities

The Home has two spacious lounges, one affording views of historic Bewdley town. A basement Activities Day Centre provides an alternative room for residents to participate in group activities, or a quiet area for family members to spend time with their loved ones. The Home also boasts beautiful gardens overlooking Bewdley.

Delicious, well-balanced meals are freshly prepared and cooked each day by our cooks, with produce sourced from the local shops in our bid to support the local community. Menus are planned in consultation with residents and our cooks cater for any special dietary needs or individual preferences.

Activities

At Hernes Nest House, we firmly believe that keeping the body active can do wonders for the mind.

A hairdresser visits twice a week for residents who wish to have their hair done, and regular outings are planned, such as shopping trips to Kidderminster, the garden centre, or riverside walks.

A regular Movement Class for the elderly is provided by a qualified Music and Movement specialist, and the Home organises regular entertainment with musicians and the like.

Staff

Our staff are trained to the highest standard, providing excellent quality of care whilst respecting residents’ dignity and privacy at all times. At Hernes Nest House, we put our residents’ needs central to the care we provide, with accurate care plans that are regularly reviewed and updated. Working closely with residents’ family members our staff are able to assist residents to lead happy, active and purposeful lives.

Staff are trained in Dementia awareness. Through continuous training, regular workshops and planned activities with our Dementia Specialists, our priority is to help residents affected live well with dementia. Most importantly, our staff are compassionate and caring, comforting and reassuring, providing our residents with a safe and loving environment.

Other Health Care Professionals

At Hernes Nest House, we work closely with other health care professionals, including our local GP and District Nurse, as well as the Wyre Forest Admissions and Preventions Team and Kemp Hospice, who offer support to relatives or staff when needed.
